A series of classes on genealogical research will be held from10:00am to 12:00pm at the Bassett Historical Center on each Tuesday in September 2024.

 

Genealogy 1 and Genealogy 2, offered on 3 September & 10 September respectively, are for those just beginning their family research and will cover the basics of research and the materials available at the Center.

 

Genealogy 3 and Genealogy 4, offered on 17 September & 24 September, respectively, will cover the use of several different genealogical websites. In order to benefit from the 3rd and 4th classes, participants will need to have taken the first two classes and/or have a basic understanding of computer use. There is no charge for the classes which will be conducted by Cindy (Hubbard) Headen, Genealogy Clerk at the Bassett Historical Center. Cindy is a graduate of Fieldale-

Collinsville High School, Roanoke Bible College (now Mid-Atlantic Christian University) and Elizabeth City State University. She has been doing genealogical research for over 23 years and has worked at the Bassett Historical Center for 18 years. When you sign up for Genealogy 1, you will automatically be signed up for the other three classes.
